Rockells Farm Fishery

First class fishing in the heart of the countyside.

A 3 Acre Lake situated in the peaceful idealic location at the bottom of the large garden of Rockells Farm. It was excavated approximately 35 years ago and is now surrounded by, Mature weeping willows,firs and rushes.
There are 27 swims on the lake, but only 24 are fishable due to the water only being 5 inches deep in parts.
The depth of the rest of the lake go to around 7 ft max, but mostly 3 ft in the margins & around the island.
Platforms on lake swims provide excellent coarse fishing facilities.
Stocked mainly with Carp to 21lb however reports of a carp in excess of 30lbs, have been seen feeding in the margins of swim 3.
Tench to 4.5 lb and a good head of Roach, Rudd and Chub are also present.


Disabled Anglers are very welcome

Rules :

Please drive SLOWLY around the farm.
Do not leave vehicles parked on the grass verges, Instead use the second car park.
Do not feed any of the animals.
Please take your litter home with you. Do not discard it on the lake side.
All mobile phones should be set to vibrate, as not to disturb other anglers.
No children under the age of 12, unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
Barbless Hooks only. We have random checks, If barbed hooks are found, you will be asked to leave the lake and will not be permitted to return.
Minimal Groundbait, NO METHOD FEEDERS!Dry breadcrumb only please.
No Bollies or Trout Pellets.
If keep net is used, no fish over 3lb to be put into it.
Weighing mats must be used on all fish.
No Night Fishing
Please do not leave your fishing gear unattended Although there are never problems of this nature, please be aware that their are some people who may take a fancy to your fishing tackle.
Rockells Farm will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to you or your belongings during your visit.

Directions :

From Saffron Walden Take the B1383 to Wendens Ambo,
Followed by the B1039 towards Royston.
Pass the railway station, under the M11,
Take the second road left to Newland End.
After half a mile uphill turn right and at the next junction turn right again.
The farm is signposted to the right, after half a mile.
